Flouride Rinse Program
We participate in a school-based Fluoride Mouth Rinse Program sponsored through the Ohio Department of Health. Tooth decay continues to be a significant problem for many Ohio children due to a lack of fluoridated water or access to preventive dental care. The program started on Wednesday, September 17 and will continue each week through the school year.
Health Promotion Presentations
The Ohio University-Chillicothe Associate Degree Nursing students will be presenting health education topics for students in grades K-5 on November 7th. They will be conducting their presentations on safety, nutrition, dental and hygiene. The sessions last about 30 minutes with time for question and answer for the students.
Body Safety
A representative from the Child Protection Services will be coming to our school on October 6 & 7 to do Body Safety talks to our students in grades K-5th.
Puberty Talks
We will be scheduling our puberty talks for our 5th graders sometime this fall. I will send home a note when we schedule a specific date.
Vision & Hearing Testing
We will be completing our vision and hearing screening on all students in grades K, 1,3,5,7 and 9. |
